We all need and deserve support.
As a therapist, I draw from a diverse range of theories and approaches tailored to your specific needs. I believe in pairing body-based approaches and mindfulness with traditional talk therapy, specifically trauma-informed Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Body-based approaches, such as somatic experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), brainspotting, help process and heal trauma trapped in the body. While DBT provides coping skills and a framework to understand and change behaviors. Together, we'll work to regulate your nervous system and let go of suffering.
The primary focus areas in my practice include trauma, life transitions, anxiety, depression, interpersonal relationships, self-worth and acceptance, grief, parenting, and caretaking. Typical goals that I collaboratively work with clients on include:
Breaking free from patterns that no longer serve
Cultivating and trusting your inner voice
Identifying and communicating needs and boundaries effectively
Recognizing and expressing emotions
Enhancing interpersonal relationships
Reconnecting with your body
Building a life that aligns with your values
My background and experiences have profoundly shaped my approach. Both personal and professional journeys, along with my training, have influenced how I perceive and engage with the world. I'm particularly attuned to the impact of unjust power structures and the multifaceted effects of trauma. I strongly believe that everyone deserves respect, support, and genuine human connection. My experiences have reinforced my commitment to facilitating healing, both for myself and for others.
Previously, with a background in journalism and communications, I helped people share their narratives. Now, I continue to support people in understanding and healing within their own stories. I believe in the transformative power of storytelling and see every individual's narrative as powerful and worthy. I consider myself a perpetual learner, approaching each new experience with curiosity and openness. This same approach extends to my work with clients, recognizing them as the experts in their own journeys. My role is to listen, support, encourage, empower, and collaborate with you, as you hold the ultimate wisdom in your healing process.
"Everything can begin with you. You are the foundation of any change that will happen.”
